Love Me; Love Me Not

...because just a simple 'sorry' can make heaven turn towards you with open arms!

Call me an obsessed soul, call me a fan, call me a freak, and I won't mind. Yes I am a little lovey dovey super romantic person. I read romance and dream romance. For me, love is something that can conquer all evil, and also make miracles happen. If your love is true, selfless and forever, you can always move on with a smile on your face. I recently saw in a documentary that the amount of negative energy from a sad or an unpleasant thought is hundred times less than the vibrations from a beautiful and happy thought. So if we always show positive energy and deal life with a positive attitude, then nothing can even try to make us unhappy.
If there is love in your life in any form - mother, daughter, father, son, niece, sister, husband, wife, aunt, uncle, friends or even the people who you have met just for a little while and who have made an impression in your heart. Even if you have met them for a small while, and if their presence can make you feel loved, then their importance exceeds all limits.

Someone out there loves you!
Someone out there loves you!
I have been thinking about love and life a lot lately. I guess majorly because fights with people I had once considered best friends are a scene to watch daily. My new mantra is to ignore the wrong and walk towards the right, and if you think that the relationship you had with the person is worth all the efforts, then put your hundred percent in it! I would also want to throw some light on the fact that no matter how things get messed up, and how much they get messed up, if you have love in your heart for your own self, then I assure you that nothing can bring you down.
Just as I always say, Love, cherish, forgive and forget.
So if you have had any arguments, fights or misunderstandings, love yourself, cherish the person you knew, forgive their faults, and forget all wrong!  Now, why would you want to increase your own blood pressure when it isn't your own fault!
But just a short note; if it is your fault, don't be ashamed to apologize, because just a simple 'sorry' can make heaven turn towards you with open arms!
Hope to meet you the next time, and I hope you have a smile on your face while reading my blog!
Will catch up later!

Human Monkeys?

Okay, after a long break, now I am back to blogging. But, today, I have a lot more to say other than just humans. Let's talk about our origin- no, I’m not talking about how we came from our mothers' womb. I am talking about monkeys!

Many believe that we have originated from monkeys, obviously giving to our similarities...the mouth, ears, eyes.....other than the tail; almost everything about humans and monkeys is similar.

Now, you might think why Srishti is talking about monkeys!?!?!? Well friends, while coming back from a relative's house, on my way back, I came across a monkey. Other than the fact that he had broken a few of our food containers (in desperate search of food, I suppose) and also made our air cooler do an air flip and crash at the ground, there was one thing which was, pretty usual to monkeys and as intriguing as it sounds, usual to humans as well. There is a domestic maid in my area who brings food and hangs it outside the railing while she is busy working to earn in the neighbor’s house to support her family. The monkey jumped to the railing, opened the packet the maid had wrapped around an Indian bread and he started munching on it merrily.

This was her hard earned money in the stomach of a monkey. If you look at it in another way, it is happening everyday with us. Monkey or not, another human is ready to munch in the plate of our deserts! Somebody else is ready to butt in and take the credit for our work. And hence, I can say, there is a down low in our society....the human society in general. Let us all not become monkeys and be happy with what we are getting in our plates.

And of course, how can we act like monkeys if we are humans?

Change; Let's Love it! (Inspired by Niall Horan)

I was watching One Direction’s interview on daybreak and let’s just say, the 1D boys are hilarious! During the interview, the interviewee asked what the boys thought of the new panel of judges for the X Factor and how, many people were saying that this change wasn’t good. As a reply to that, Niall Horan said, “People don’t want to see the change but when the change happens; they love it”, and this line has been stuck in my head since I saw the interview.
Is change good or bad, desired or not?

Well, thinking back on the line, it really is true. At first we do not wish for the change, but when the change happens we learn to accept it. We learn from it, experience from it, and definitely love it at the end.

Here I am going to put forth a few examples that were inside my head while writing this post:
1) When my Social Science teacher got changed, the whole class moaned. Everyone thought that we wanted our old teacher back. Soon we got used to the teaching pattern of our new teacher and somewhere started enjoying the change!
2) One Direction; the band was formed in X Factor UK. The formation of the band was a change for the five individual singers, but taking it in good spirits, now, they love the change!
3) India became a democracy, and now is the biggest democracy in the world! It was a change for Indians, but I bet nobody moaned when this change took place.
4) About one or two years back, the CBSE education system changed in India. I remember getting irritated when we got to know about the CCE system, but now I am used to it. I know how to divide my time, I’ve learnt many different things that I never thought I would have from the normal education system and am starting to enjoy the grading system.

So, change is good! Or at least, we should know that whatever is happening definitely has a reason behind it.
Maybe not EVERY change is good, but just a little tweak here and there won’t turn our lives upside down!

Irish Inspiration; Niall Horan!

All around us, we see people who can inspire us. Each and every individual has a characteristic that is admired, maybe not by all, but definitely by a few!
Today, I am going to talk about Niall Horan. Many of us know him as one fifth of One Direction, a British – Irish boyband that came into existence during X-Factor UK! They finished third on the seventh series of ITV reality talent The X Factor. Following The X Factor, the group signed a £2,000,000 record contract with Syco.

The boyband consists of members (age wise): Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles.
Today, 13th September 2011, Niall Horan turns 18! Wishing you a very happy birthday Niall! J

Here is a little birthday tribute to a person who teaches me every time to keep following my dreams and to never give up.

Niall Horan, a contestant in the X Factor UK, stole the hearts of the judges in his first audition. Soon, a decision was made by the judges where the five boys and four girls were put into two separate bands, a boyband and a girlband. The boyband was named One Direction (by Harry Styles) and they ended as the second runner’s up.
Certain things happen in life for a reason, and when we look back at that, we find the true reason of all happening. The contestant who came to become a singer, to be acknowledged, who never had any thought of being in a band, is now doing amazing as a part of One Direction!

So, let life bring us the treat! Everything that happens, happens for a reason! J

I can Die, But will Not Bend; Anna Hazare

Anywhere people are  or may be, everyone is talking about Anna Hazare's fight against corruption. He is an Indian social activist, former soldier in the Indian army and prominent leader in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, using nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Where he went on a hunger strike when the  government introduced its own version of the bill in Parliament without accepting suggestions from civil society members .
Anna said that he would fight till his 'last breath' until the government gets his team's Jan Lokpal Bill passed in this session of parliament (which ends September 8).  On August 21, 2011, almost ten thousand people came to the Ramlila Maidan to support Hazare as he sat on an elevated platform. The number of supporters increased day by day. It was reported that Hazare at that point had lost more than seven pounds since beginning his fast, despite this he stated that he would not withdraw his hunger strike until the Jan Lokpal bill is passed in the Parliament. He said he could can die but  will not bend. On August 28, 2011, after the Indian Government had passed the resolution for the Lokpal Bill unanimously, Anna Hazare ended his fast at 10:20:03 Hrs on Sunday morning.
Another record set in the History of India, I must say. But now the question is  whether our country will fight corruption or be a part of corruption. Where all radios, newspapers, television channels are showing the Anti-Corruption ride, the point is, are we prepared? We see 'corruption' in everyday things. Everyone wants that they be safe, and not care about the rest of the world. Corruption, in basic English means dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
Bribery starts from when we are a baby! Our parents say, 'Go child, study and when you get good marks I'll buy you a chocolate!' When we are a little older, our teachers Bribe us. The Say, 'Finish your homework and I will give you a golden star in your notebook!' This Bribery continues till we get to a college, join universities and eventually grows when people get into jobs. Well, you might be thinking what do these examples have to show in a relation with corruption. My point here is that corruption starts from the very point a child is born.
So let us all hold hands and fight against corruption. But before directly putting forth our views, let's first be the change we want to see in others! Let's fight corruption and corrupt mindedness from our own selves. C'mon, just as Micheal Jackson has said, Let's start with the man in the mirror! :)

I spy!

“When things are hidden; they are bound to be found!”

With my new found addiction to a show called ‘Pretty Little Liars’ by each passing episode I realize what is happening. One person, the anonymous A has the secrets of people and is spreading them. Slowly, they are getting disclosed and new topics are slowly opening up.

Well, this made me think about what happens every passing day in my school life. Everyone holds some secrets about the other. And, whenever we hold a grudge against each other, these secrets open up. Hence, creating much more troubles and fights.

It more or less seems like the game of I Spy or which we usually call Hide and Seek. This shows that wherever you may be hidden, the Denner eventually finds everyone and completes his turn.

Okay, so, well I am addicted to pretty little liars and it seems like everything fictional relates to our everyday life! Regardless of the fact that I don’t have secrets like those of the leads from the show, I do know that there are certain parts of me that I only want certain people to know, and not disclose to the rest. Apparently, when these fights become a part of everyday, a few or maybe all, are opened up at the wrong times.
At these certain times, I am out of thought for what to do, how to react and even how to feel?
It makes me come to just one single thought......

Would our life be any spicy if everyone was peaceful?
I am not saying the fights between nations, or countries. I am just saying a small argument between friends that can be easily resolved. I guess, no matter how brutal they may seem at the moment, these do help us in self discovery J

Chess......a way to look at life!

Chessmaster 10th edition
While talking to one another during summer vacations, my friend told me a few interesting things about chess. So, the game I never used to enjoy started becoming interesting day after day. The day our vacations were over I went and borrowed the ‘chessmaster’ CD from my friend, and I am glad I did.

Apart from teaching us the basic techniques of chess, it also shows how similar our life is to the chess board. If we are the king then all the pieces on the board are our saviours. Here, our saviours are our friends and family. They are there to support us in every position.
It taught me that it's very easy to get caught up in the meaningless confusions, of chess or of life. The key is not to run away, but to know where to look.

“When confronted by a tactical position, we should always look for force and continuations, for example checks and captures.” This is a line from The Chessmate academy. So, where it is teaching us how to capture the king of the opponent, we can see it as a way of facing our life. Never  by running away. Keeping faith and strength, and looking in a right and a different direction! J

The scene is from 'Harry Potter and
The Chamber of secrets'  where
Harry, Ron and Hermione have to become
chess pieces to save their lives. This is
symbolic of saying that if Harry is
the king, he had to be saved by the help of Ron
 and Hermione's respective chess pieces.

Beauty Lies In the Eyes of the Beholder

The Beauty and The Beast, we all are well aware of the classic fairytale written by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. Just today, I had the opportunity to watch a modern retelling of the story in the movie ‘Beastly’. With the gorgeous looks of Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens together, I was stunned by the message this movie could portray to the world.

“If eyes were made for seeing, Then Beauty is its own excuse for being.” This is a beautiful quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. For we must know that Beauty is not just the outside, but is in the inside. When we look around and see people, we tend to judge them by their appearance. This story told the tale of a father who abandoned his son when the son turned into an ugly beast! Where a teenage girl could see the love, kindness and the pain of the heart inside the beast, and could love the man from the heart, it shows that love and emotions are really what matter.

Even ‘The Ugly Duckling’ is pretty if there is beauty in the person looking at it. When a person is beautiful from the inside, the beauty is radiated on the outside. Everyone has a beast inside themselves and a beauty. So, let lose the beast.....make the beast free of your bound and cherish the beauty.
So every morning, no matter how groggy you look, take a look in the mirror and see the inner beauty. Once you will feel beautiful about yourself, there is no chance, and I can guarantee you this, that the people around will not see the beautiful person that you are. They will be attracted to you like a magnet if you feel the beauty inside yourself. When you will feel the love for yourself, you will have a happy feeling throughout the day. People will love you for who you are! J

Be sure to check out the movie as well! I assure you, its worth a watch!

Here's a trailer.....Enjoy!!!

Dreams

"Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep." This is the wikipedia definition of a dream.
Everyone included a toddler dreams everyday. We have dreams while we're working, in school, at home or at work. We dream in the day and also at night! It is not only when we sleep, dream is a process which is happening throughout the day, while you are awake  or while you are asleep.
For me dream is an aspiration of the heart. The innermost desire. When we feel that what we are dreaming is a fairytale, think again, fairytales are made on humans,by humans, are't they? It is an idea, that we are letting out in the world. An idea which we wish to have. Something that we wish to conquer. Once we know our innermost yearning, the dream makes us believe that it is already ours. Once we live in such a feeling, there is nothing that can stop us from reaching the heights of glory. Here, glory is not the fame, but the satisfaction of the self.
Here, I would like to say an example, Shah Rukh Khan, an actor, my inspiration and so of many others has loads of fame. He got this fame because he dreamed of it, and then worked towards it. But, if this fame does not give him satisfaction, then there was no dream since the beginning. A dream gives satisfaction when fulfilled and also while in the process of it being fulfilled.
But for the dreams you also need faith. Faith in yourself and faith in the God/Almighty/Guru or by what ever name you want to call the eternal energy. You know If you tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe, he'll believe you. But if you tell him a park bench has just been painted, he has to touch it to be sure." This is the power of Faith.

Steve jobs on being fired from Apple said that being fired was like awful tasting medicine, but a patient needs it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. He said, “I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle..."
Always remember, "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish
” …..and have the power to dream on!

So I would like to conclude by saying, keep dreaming.......and believe that it is for real. Because when you can dream
then you can start, a dream is a wish you make with your heart.

Here is one stanza from one of my favorite songs :

Have Faith in your dreams and someday,
Your Rainbow will come smiling through,
No matter how your heart is grievin,
If you keep on believing....
The dream that you wish will come true.

Skyscraper

I have been mesmerized by the song skyscraper by Demi Lovato. Her journey in life is truly inspiring and something to learn from. If you have heard the song, you would know how deep the meaning sounds. I was not a big Lovato fan before this, but the message is deep, flying and has touched my heart.
It is like a cry for help from Demi, but she also says that no matter what, she will come out, fly high like a Skyscraper. Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere and songs are one of the most soulful ways to convey information. Demi Lovato wrote and recorded it once she went into rehab for emotional issues in  November 2010.  The song has now become Lovato's symbol:  getting help and rising above any issues that everyone is dealing with.

If you have not heard Skyscraper, you are missing on something. A deep, true and inspiring journey :')

Be sure to watch the video as well.....

True love?

As I sit down to write this post, in the middle of the night, I wonder if true love really exists. We have read it novels, seen it in movies but have never experienced it. For me, love is a relation I have with my parents. Even though I was given this relation from the very beginning, without a choice, I accepted it. That, for me now, is true love. An experience, which many kids don't get to have. I will always be grateful to God for that, for letting me rejoice in that experience.
What I sometimes feel is the bondage of love to our life. Life is nothing without love, just like love is nothing without life. Sometimes, being a teen I have realized, we do feel heartbroken. Heartbroken that we are not accepted, that we are different, that we get the feeling like we don't belong. But the truth is, if we just open our eyes, out to the world, we will know how much we are accepted and loved. How much everyone cares for us and how good life is.
As most of the people will think that when I say 'true love' I am directing my thoughts to a "girl/boy relationship" .It is not that. I am directing my thought to a relationship in general. A relation between parents and their child, one between two best friends, something between a husband and a wife. Sometimes, all we need to do is accept. Once we accept, we do feel accepted as well.
When we expect something, then we keep a bar, something like a judgement bar. So, when something is not upto our expectations, we question our own judgement. If we don't expect, then there is nothing that will be felt unrewarded. Love is just like a reward. Giving love is unconditional, but as soon as we start having expectations, conditions are put. These conditions are like the acid that corrodes the metal, where metal is the relationship. Take this for example, when a baby is born, there is unconditional love between the mother and the child. The mother is just giving, giving the child love. At that stage, the child doesn't understand love but still feels it. Sometimes shows it by pooping all over his mama's lap. But, in all this, the mother never expects that love back.
That is what it is. Accept and you will feel accepted. True love is there, out there, in front of you. For some, true love stands in music, for some in literature and for millions of others in another person. But love, sure exists.
So, when we give and don't expect, we might just get surprised with what we get!

Recovery

Just today, I decided to know a little more about one of my favourite rappers, “Eminem”. Shocked by what I read and heard about him, I think he is the best inspiration for standing back up whenever life knocks us down.
Marshall Mathers III, commonly known as Eminem and by his alter ego Slim Shady is a true inspiration. He was born in a family with not many resources. Left by his father at 18 months old, Eminem was raised by a single mother moving from state to state. He changed schools, repeated grade nine thrice and then dropped out.
He had an artistic talent for the African American singing style called Rap music, and he excelled in that. He struggled in his personal life with his wife, Kimberly and had to go through a divorce twice. His life couldn’t be worse and that’s when he indulged into drugs. He has been outspoken about the use and going into rehab. During this period he admitted that at the height of his addiction, he considered suicide, saying that, "I just wasn't taking care of myself; at times I wanted to just give it up.
But, life moves on. He came back and with all his strength stood back up. He had turned the clock around. With his album ‘Recovery’ he came back. He had recovered. The best way to recover was to admit that there was something wrong and to make things right, he had to work for himself. He did not give up, and now he’s the number one on our iPods and mp3 players. If you have listened to his single ‘Not Afraid’ you will know that he is ready to give a helping hand.
After being 2 hrs away from death, he knew what was right for him. Life had knocked him down, hit him hard in the face, but he recovered. That’s what we all need to do, recover. Fate is just not those lines on our hands, it is what we make of our lives. Stand up, it’s time you show your true self. Life will knock us down, but we need to fight back up.
Always have faith in who you trust. Just like an infant, who trusts the mother’s lap for everything. Who feels safety in the mother’s arms, the affection in her touch.

Always stay strong. Life is full of challenges, and each day is a puzzle to be solved. J

Humans......the competing race

Run Run Run! That's what life seems like sometimes. Person A came first, no! Person C has to try harder this time.
Once you sit down and think, it'll seem like life is just so that we can run ahead. So that we can compete. Have you ever thought that how much we compete in our everyday life? Well, every morning we get up, we compete to be the first ones to go to the washroom. Then, we compete with our brothers and sisters for the television. We compete at school for a rank in studies. We also compete to get that handsome boy to like "me" instead of "her".
In a wider environment, we compete against the birds flying high by making airplanes (well, atleast we try), compete against the fishes by making boats to cross the ocean. We compete with the whole outside world for inner peace.
Then, when we think about it, is it really helping? The airplanes are vulnerable to strong winds. The boats, if made with a little error can drown. If we could just sit, and other than thinking of competition consider it fun, an achievement, that's when things can come into perspective. Do not think of it like a boss being happy with what you have done, because then the remote to your happiness will be in his hand. Think of it like inner satisfaction.
When you are happy with your own work, you will notice that the world around will smile in your joy. Keep the remote to your happiness with yourself.
Life can have little bits of healthy competitions, but only take part in them if you know that THAT healthy is good. Don't just compete because everyone else is doing it, do what you think is good and never let go of that smile.
One smile can make all the difference :)

As Strong As Glass....

I was studying a small chapter on acids. While reading that chemistry chapter, I came across a sentence, 'Acids are never stored in metal containers, because they gradually corrode and eat up the metal container. Acids are stored in containers made of glass, as glass is not attacked by acids.'

So whenever there is a problem in life, and an acid comes to eat you up, stand strong like a glass. Even the metal corrods with the acid but the glass stays string.

Any fight that comes your way, don't sit back and ignore, stand up and fight. Be determined to win, just like the glass. Nothing can come in your way to destroy you if you have faith and will power.

Just as a song suggest :

Till the time you have faith in your heart,
This world is a lovely place.
In your heart keep fighting,
Everything's gonna be all right.

SMILE!
