The Fault In Our Stars : Movie Review

Hey Guys!

I got a beautiful opportunity to watch the movie, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ today. The movie is based upon the bestselling novel by the same name written by John Green. It was a pleasure watching that movie, and I definitely recommend it to all of you out there.

The story revolves around two characters and their families and their love story – Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters. They are star crossed lovers, but unlike other romance novels, they both suffer from various forms of cancer. It is a sad story, yet a believable one. It is a sad story, yet it is beautiful. It is a heartbreaking love story, yet it is magical.

The movie takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions. A little bit of dry humour also makes the movie very heart warming. If there is one thing I learnt from the movie, it is the value of living in the present. There is a quote in the movie (and the book), that says, “There's no way of knowing that your last good day is Your Last Good Day. At the time, it is just another good day.” I feel that this quote applies to us all. We spend so long not living our lives to the fullest, being sad, depressed, annoyed or angry. Life is much more. It is only upto us, to make all our days ‘Good Days’.

There is a lot more this beautiful work of fiction teaches us. Another one of my favourite quotes is, “If you want a rainbow you have to deal with the rain”. If we want success, we need to work hard, if we want love, we need to love more, if we want to find gold, we have to deal with digging for it! It is something that we all neglect. We end up just running in our lives, thinking that we can find that rainbow but we forget to let it rain.

This is definitely a must watch movie, and if I could, I would give it a million stars. The fault is not in our stars, but in our own mindset. Let’s move beyond, let’s move forward. The fault is nowehere. This movie showed me that life is everything, yet it is nothing.

So, thank you John Green for writing this amazing book. No matter how much I appreciate it, it would be less. I thank you, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort for making these characters come alive. Thank you for blessing the world with a beautiful love story and an even beautiful message.

Definitely guys, go and watch this movie!!!!

P.s: I advise you to carry a box of tissues :’)

See you next time
